NASA’s SpaceX Crew-12 lifted off at 5:15 a.m. Eastern Time on a Friday from Space Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida. The mission sent four crew members toward the International Space Station: NASA astronauts Jessica Meir and Jack Hathaway, ESA astronaut Sophie Adenot, and Roscosmos cosmonaut Andrey Fedyaev. The Dragon spacecraft, carried by a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket, is slated to dock autonomously at the space-facing port of the Harmony module around 3:15 p.m. Eastern Time on Saturday, February 14.
NASA Administrator Billions of dedicated professionals proved again that careful preparation, teamwork, and disciplined risk management are essential for human spaceflight. “The research this crew will conduct aboard the space station advances critical technologies for deep-space exploration while delivering real benefits here on Earth,” said NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman. He emphasized that the missions expand human presence in low Earth orbit and lay groundwork for future milestones toward the Moon and Mars, highlighting the ongoing collaboration with NASA, SpaceX, and international partners.
During the Dragon’s journey, SpaceX will oversee a sequence of automatic maneuvering from its mission control in Hawthorne, California. NASA will monitor station operations from its Mission Control Center at Johnson Space Center in Houston.
NASA’s live coverage resumes at 1:15 p.m. Saturday on NASA+ as well as Amazon Prime Video and the agency’s YouTube channel, tracking rendezvous, docking, and hatch opening. After docking, the crew will undock from their spacesuits, unload cargo, and open the hatch to the Harmony module around 5 p.m. A welcome ceremony aboard the station will follow shortly after hatch opening, with NASA providing additional coverage.

Meir, Hathaway, Adenot, and Fedyaev will join Expedition 74 aboard the ISS, joining current crew members NASA astronaut Chris Williams and Roscosmos cosmonauts Sergey Kud-Sverchkov and Sergei Mikayev. The arrival returns the station to its standard seven-person crew after Crew-11’s departure in January.
During Crew-12’s time on the orbital outpost, the crew will pursue science aimed at enabling human exploration beyond low Earth orbit and delivering Earthly benefits. They will study pneumonia-causing bacteria to improve cardiovascular treatments, research on-demand intravenous fluid generation for future missions, and investigations into how physical characteristics influence blood flow during spaceflight. Other experiments include automated plant health monitoring and studies of plant–nitrogen-fixing microbe interactions to enhance food production in space.
Crew-12 is part of NASA’s Commercial Crew Program, which aims to provide reliable access to space, optimize the station’s research and development capacity, and support future deep-space missions by partnering with private companies to transport astronauts to and from the ISS.
